The menu has a good spread of macro and micro nutrients and we have adjusted the fat and calcium levels as appropriate for puppies. The menu includes our complete Chicken and Veal Meals which have added natural supplements such as green-lipped mussels, kelp, coconut oil etc which are all good for growing limbs. All the meat blocks are individually weighed so you can be sure your puppy is getting the right amount each day.

Tripe Lamb Unminced Unwashed

Price range: $14.95 through $89.99 available on subscription

Tripe may look and smell awful, but it is one of the most nutritious raw foods you can give your dog. It is classified as a muscle meat and should ideally constitute around 20% of your dog’s diet. Tripe comes from the stomach of plant-eating animals such as cows, deer, sheep etc. This particular tripe is lamb tripe and is not minced. The tripe still contains much of the nutritious content from the fermented plant matter in their stomach including probiotics with anti-inflammatory properties, enzymes to aid digestion, amino acids to help muscles and gastric juices which help clean teeth. If feeding bones, always combine with Tripe. Additionally, it is a great source of fibre, plus contains minerals such as iron, zinc, potassium and selenium. Tripe is also a “white” meat and is good for dogs with sensitive digestive tracts or food allergies

Lamb Liver Diced

Price range: $12.75 through $27.50 available on subscription

Liver is classified as offal and is a fantastic food source for dogs and cats with more nutrients, gram for gram than any other food type. Because it is so nutrient dense, it should only ever constitute a maximum of 5% of their diet.  It contains the best natural source of vitamin A, which cats have a special requirement for as they cannot get this from plant matter. Taurine is vital for the healthy functioning of the eyes and heart. Liver is also a good source of vitamins D, E, K and C, plus all the B group in particular vitamin B12, which helps prevent anaemia, protects the nervous system and aids digestion. Liver is good for dogs and cats who may be constipated.  It is also rich in the minerals iron, zinc, manganese and selenium plus is a great source of the essential fatty acids Omega 3 and 6.

Dogs Beginner’s Bags (4 Week Supply)

Price range: $78.00 through $482.00 available on subscription

Brodie’s Beginner’s Bags contains a 4 week meal plan to help your dog smoothly transition to a raw diet.  The Bags contains 28 meal bags, all coded by day and week, with the amount based on your dog’s weight. We recommend you split the daily meal bag into 2 meals, morning and night, however, it is fine to feed as one meal if that is the usual routine. The plan starts with a plain, easily digest meat such as free-range, organic chicken and gradually introduces new proteins, with the 4th week representing the full, prey model diet of 60% meat, 20% tripe, 10% meaty bones and 10% offal.

To properly digest raw meat and bones, the stomach needs acidity in the stomach (low PH of approx 1-2). It is therefore important to stop feeding dry biscuits as the carbohydrates in these promote higher PH levels inhibiting the digestion of raw food plus making the dog vulnerable to pathogenic bacteria which high acidity levels are able to control.
